Journalists Urged to Advocate for Climate Justice at COP29

Scientists and experts from relevant fields have called on journalists to champion Bangladesh’s cause at the upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29). They made this appeal during a mentoring session organized by the Center for Atmosphere Pollution Studies (CAPS) and 26 other organizations.

The day-long workshop, held at the Press Institute auditorium on Bailey Road, brought together key figures in the field, including PIB Director General Farooq Wasif, Journalist Kalyan Trust MD- M Abdullah, CAPS Chairman Dr. Ahmed Kamruzzaman Mazumder, and South Asian Climate Change Journalist Forum (SACCJF) Executive President Karamot Ullah Biplob.

Karamot Ullah Biplob emphasized the far-reaching impact of climate change, noting its effect on women’s health and aging. He stressed the importance of raising awareness and promoting climate mitigation measures through effective communication.

To prepare journalists for COP29, certificates were awarded to workshop participants.
